For more than 25 years, Charman has dedicated herself to inspiring and empowering individuals to elevate their quality of life and create a holistic approach to personal development through her work as a wellness entrepreneur, arts advocate, writer, and public speaker. Looking ahead, her focus lies in promoting financial literacy and wellness, particularly for families, with a special emphasis on the empowerment of women and children. This commitment is paramount in her role at Heirloom Advisors.
Personal Info
Charman lives in Raleigh with her husband, Frank Thompson, and their daughter, Delaney. Charman and her husband were instrumental in establishing the Contemporary Art Museum of Raleigh (CAM Raleigh) in The Warehouse District that ushered in broad economic development with it. She is the youngest person to date and first African-American woman to receive NC State University’s College of Design 2016 Designlife Award for leadership in design and the arts, service to the community and exemplary philanthropy.
She is a current board member of Dorothea Dix Park Conservancy and past board member of CAM Raleigh, NCMA, Artspace and Vital Plan, Inc.
Charman enjoys running, skiing, hiking, yoga, swimming and walking her three dogs: Mochi, Willie, and Binx. She meditates daily to remain grounded.
